Dr. Shepherd brings a unique perspective to chiropractic care. The passion for serving adults 40 and older drives our practice philosophy for a one-on-one approach that looks beyond symptoms to understand how joint mobility, muscle function, and movement patterns may be contributing to discomfort or limitations. Dr. Roxanne Shepherd founded Freedom of Movement Chiropractic with a clear mission: to help patients move better, feel better, and maintain active, independent lives. Her background in nursing brings a distinctive whole-person perspective to chiropractic care, combining clinical knowledge, hands-on treatment, and compassionate attention to each patient’s individual needs.
As a Flexion-Distraction certified chiropractic physician, Dr. Shepherd provides conservative care for a variety of musculoskeletal concerns, including back and neck pain, disc-related conditions, arthritis-related stiffness, extremity complaints, headaches, and mobility limitations.

Dr. Shepherd has a particular passion for caring for adults 40 and older and understanding the changes in mobility, joint function, and physical activity that can occur with age. Every visit is personally led by Dr. Shepherd, allowing her to provide consistent, one-on-one care and adapt treatment as each patient progresses.
Using techniques and supportive therapies such as Flexion-Distraction, Diversified and Activator techniques, cupping, electrical stimulation, pulse therapy, and assisted stretching, Dr. Shepherd develops individualized care plans focused on improving movement, reducing discomfort, restoring function, and helping patients stay active.

Freedom Of Movement Chiropractic is approved to work with Workers' Compensation and Aetna. Coverage and eligibility are verified on a case by case basis, so we recommend confirming your specific benefits with our office before your visit.
If your pain is connected to a car accident or another injury involving a claim, we are glad to help. Florida requires Personal Injury Protection, known as PIP, on auto policies, and chiropractic care is commonly covered following an accident. Ask our office for details when you schedule.
